LAPD Honors Officers for Their Bravery

The Los Angeles Police Department held a ceremony at the Hollywood & Highland Center to honor 14 brave men who above and beyond to help someone in need. These men showed how brave they are by their actions when things begin to go wrong. These officers were able to do their job even though they were injured, which shows how brave the men and women in law enforcement are. One of the 14 officers that were awarded the Medal of Valor for his bravery was veteran Los Angeles Police Officer Don Thompson. Officer Thompson was on his way to work with the LAPD’s bomb squad when he witnessed a car flip, roll across the 405 freeway, and then hit the center divider. When the car hit the center divider, it burst into flames and Officer Thompson raced into action. He quickly stopped his car, leaped out of his vehicle, and raced the car on fire. When he got to the car, Thompson noticed that the doors were badly damaged and there was a large, unconscious man in the driver seat. Officer Thompson and a few bystanders helped pull out the man from the burning vehicle. Blog by Bail Bonds El Monte Pros.
